Q: What is the collaboration between Washington University in St. Louis and Deerfield Management Company?
A: Washington University in St. Louis (“WashU”) is collaborating with Deerfield Management Company, an investment firm dedicated to advancing healthcare, to accelerate the translation of research emerging from WashU. VeritaScience, LLC, is a private company wholly owned by affiliates of Deerfield Management formed to facilitate this collaboration. Its objective is to fund projects aimed at discovering novel therapeutics that have the potential to cure life altering diseases. This collaboration will rely on the novel insights WashU researchers and clinicians have and will leverage Deerfield's expertise in accelerating state-of-the-art drug development. Deerfield has committed up to $130 million and may provide additional scientific and operational support.

Q: Who is eligible to apply?
A: Principal Investigators whose principal employer is WashU or who have a faculty appointment at WashU and are therefore subject to WashU institutional policies are eligible to apply.
